Back to Back Wins for the Cougars!
By Sydney Smith | Jan 29, 2024 11:08 AM
This past weekend the Cougars took down the Calumet Christian Patriots and South Bend Career Academy Trailblazers in back-to-back home games. 21st Century's Friday night success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Terrence Hayes led the charge by scoring 22 points along with eight assists and six rebounds. That's the first time this season that Hayes posted eight or more assists. Another player making a difference was Elijah Musaddiq, who dropped a double-double of 19 points and 13 rebounds. Saturday afternoon, Musaddiq turned around and produced his most outstanding game to date while leading the Cougars to the win. Musaddiq dropped a double-double on 22 points and 12 rebounds, making the game his highest-scoring to date. His performance all weekend earned him “Player of the Game” twice in a row. JaColby Donaldson’s performance on Saturday was also nothing short of a gem: he scored 11 points along with seven assists and three steals. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Terrence Hayes, who scored 22 points along with six rebounds and six steals.
